A lifelong love for cats has blossomed into a thriving business for Beth Cvetkovich, the owner of Queen B Mobile Cat Care in Warren, Ohio. The one-woman, mobile cat grooming service is quickly growing as Cvetkovich turns her passion into a successful venture.
“I’ve always been a cat person,” Cvetkovich said. “I’ve been handling cats since I was a little girl, always bringing home strays.” Her experience and love for animals led her to provide grooming services to family and friends for years before deciding to start a business.
“People were constantly asking me to help with their cats,” Cvetkovich explained. “One day, I jokingly said, ‘I’m going to start charging you guys for this,’ and that’s when the idea clicked.” In January 2024, Cvetkovich officially launched Queen B Mobile Cat Care, making her the first small business owner in her family.
Her mobile service caters to customers who may have difficulty leaving their homes for grooming, offering convenience and care directly at their doorstep. “Some people struggle with transportation, lack of time, or mobility issues,” Cvetkovich said. “I also help those dealing with mental health challenges like agoraphobia or anxiety.”
Cvetkovich also plans to offer her services at discounted rates to people in low-income neighborhoods and senior care facilities in the Mahoning Valley. “I want to provide affordable, quality service to those who need it most,” she added.
The local community’s response has been overwhelmingly positive, Cvetkovich said, as her business grows faster than expected. “I thought I had a five-year plan, but at this rate, it looks like I’ll be phasing out my day job by the end of this year,” she said.
Looking ahead, Cvetkovich expects her business to pick up after Memorial Day as the weather warms. “As people realize how much cat hair is piling up, I’ll be ready to help them get their cats bathed, shaved, and groomed,” she said.
