Instagram user @freyathesiberian recently shared a playful video that has captured the internet’s attention, showcasing their Siberian cat, Freya, and her so-called “criminal record.” The video, which mimics the style of a dramatic police show, is titled “PAWS & ORDER: Crimes my cat Freya has committed,” setting the tone for a lighthearted and humorous exposé.
The video begins with Freya slapping her cat sibling, Teddy, with no warning, leaving Teddy looking stunned and wide-eyed. The footage then transitions into a montage of Freya’s “criminal history,” each offense humorously labeled. The first charge is “Indecent exposure,” as Freya is seen grooming herself in front of her human, seemingly unbothered by the lack of privacy. Next, she faces “Assault on barber” for hissing at a groomer trying to brush her thick, luxurious fur.
The most comical charge follows: “Possession of meowjuana.” In this scene, Freya rolls blissfully on the floor, high on catnip, with a look of pure joy and ecstasy. The video concludes with Freya hiding inside a cabinet, evading capture, which the owner dubs “Evading authorities.”
The video has drawn a flood of reactions, with many viewers laughing at Freya’s antics. One user joked, “Despite the evidence, we believe Freya is innocent.” Another added, “You say ‘menace,’ we say ‘misunderstood performance artist!’” Some fans even expressed sympathy for Freya’s “crimes,” with one commenter stating, “I bet she had her reasons, so I’m pretty sure of her innocence.”
Although Freya may be a self-proclaimed “criminal,” her adorable face makes it hard to take her alleged offenses seriously.
