A cat owner’s attempt to treat her pet with spray cheese quickly turned into a funny accident that drew laughter from social media users worldwide.
Mieux Mango, who owns three cats, tried to give one of her pets a small taste of spray cheese. But when she pressed the canister’s button too hard, a sudden burst of cheese landed all over her Norwegian Forest cat, LaFleur’s, face.
Mieux shared the amusing video on Instagram, where it has since gained over 21 million views and more than 1.4 million likes. In the clip, she warned other pet owners to be careful not to press the spray cheese bottle too hard.
She explained, “I was just trying to show that cats can have spray cheese as a treat and they like it, when I messed up. I pressed too hard on the cheese knob thing. I was trying to spray a little for her to lick off.”
The first cat, Ben, happily enjoyed his portion of cheese. However, LaFleur, who was relaxing nearby, was caught off guard and ended up covered in cheese. She had to be given a bath but seemed unfazed by the experience, even staying in the tub after the cleanup.
Off camera, Mieux joked, “You want to get out? You don’t have to stay in there, you’re cheese-free now.”
Mieux owns three cats: LaFleur, Ben (a tortoiseshell), and Egg, a young ragdoll kitten under one year old. Many pet owners may not know that vets often use liquid cheese to encourage cats to take medicine or calm them during vaccinations.
The video sparked laughter and empathy online, with viewers sharing their own funny pet mishaps. One user said they accidentally dropped oatmeal on their cat, who ended up covered in banana slices. Another recalled grating cheese on their dog’s head by mistake, leading the dog to run around confused, sniffing the unexpected treat in their fur.
