MOSCOW, Russia — When a Reddit user going by Bambampou spotted a stray cat and her kittens in the basement of a nearby building, she knew she had to act.
Like many cities, Moscow lacks a robust system for aiding homeless animals. So Bambampou, an animal lover, took matters into her own hands—ensuring the feline family never went hungry.
“My neighbors and I feed them enough that they don’t even finish their food half the time,” she wrote.
Earning Trust, One Step at a Time
Over weeks of care, Bambampou worked to gain the cats’ trust. Though she can’t adopt them herself, she hopes to find a foster home for the family.
“They’re homeless, [but] I hope that won’t be for long,” she said.
More Than Just a Meal
Beyond food, Bambampou wanted to bring joy to the cats’ lives. She gave them a hand-me-down toy from her own pets—a small gesture that made a big difference.
For the kittens, it was likely their first toy. Even their mother couldn’t resist joining in.
A Hopeful Future
Bambampou remains determined to secure a brighter future for the strays.
“Me and my neighbors are doing what we can, so I’m sure they’ll find homes soon!” she said.
With community support and a little luck, this cat family may soon trade basement life for loving homes—and more toys to come.
