Bringing pets to the vet can be stressful, but one woman’s chaotic visit quickly turned into a viral comedy.
Jacqueline Vagnone, known on TikTok as @jackieswagnone, took her two kittens to the vet for their first appointment. She let them out of their carrier to explore while waiting. However, this simple choice sparked a playful chase.
Her striped kitten, Princess Xena, darted around the vet’s exam room, while the black kitten, Mouse, stayed on the exam table watching. Though it might seem easy to catch a kitten in a small room, Princess Xena proved to be quite clever.
In a video posted on June 3, Vagnone is seen pacing the room, trying to catch Princess Xena. The kitten slipped through a narrow gap between the exam table and the wall, always staying one step ahead. When Vagnone turned a corner, Princess Xena was already on the other side. Frustration showed on Vagnone’s face as the chase went on for about five minutes until she finally caught her. Soon after, the vet and technician entered for the vaccinations.
Vagnone told Newsweek via email, “It wasn’t too pleasant after they got their needed vaccines!” She found the whole experience funny enough to put down her phone and film the moment instead. The video quickly went viral, gaining over six million views.
“I’ve been trying to make curated content for a while with little success on TikTok’s algorithm,” Vagnone said. “But the one video that takes just seconds to make—featuring kittens—blew up!”
TikTok users loved the playful “Tom and Jerry”-style chase. Some joked that Vagnone’s noisy flip-flops were giving her away. One viewer wrote, “She said, ‘I’m going to make you work for this visit.’” Another added, “The other cat is like, ‘What the heck is going on?’” Others sympathized with the kitten, questioning the vet office’s design: “Who thought it was a good idea to have a tiny space between the bench and the wall?”
The video perfectly captured the unpredictable chaos of pet visits—and the humor that can come with it.
