Oscar-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins marked International Cat Day with a heartwarming Instagram post, sharing a series of photos featuring himself alongside several cats in Morocco.
The 86-year-old Silence of the Lambs star posted a carousel of images with the caption, “From Ouarzazate, Morocco, with love. ” The first snapshot showed Hopkins cradling a relaxed kitten, gazing away from the camera while the feline looked directly at the lens.
Other photos included a ginger cat stretching on a bed, a white cat staring solemnly at the camera, and two cats curled up together asleep. The post concluded with a sweet image of three cats lounging side by side on a white blanket.
Fans and animal lovers flooded the comments with praise. “Aww, what a sweet duo! You’re such a beautiful man, Sir Anthony,” one fan wrote, while another added, “The best actor is a cat person! ”
Hopkins also received appreciation from Adopt Moroccan Animals, the shelter he tagged in his post. The organization reposted his photos on their Instagram Stories, writing, “Sir Anthony Hopkins advocating for our shelter on International Cat Day. Such an honor!”
This isn’t the first time Hopkins has shown his love for animals. In June 2023, he and his wife, Stella Arroyave, 68, partnered with Paws of War, a nonprofit that helps reunite U.S. military personnel with animals they’ve rescued overseas.
Hopkins, a longtime animal advocate, continues to use his platform to support furry friends in need—proving that even Hollywood legends have a soft spot for cats.
