PET South America 2025 is set to expand its reach with the debut of the Petfood Forum in Brazil. Known as the only global event fully focused on pet food, the Petfood Forum will hold two seminars on August 14 in São Paulo, as part of the PET South America trade show.
This marks the first time the U.S.-based Petfood Forum brings its program to Latin America. The initiative is the result of a partnership with NürnbergMesse Brasil, the organizer of PET South America, the region’s leading pet industry event.
The seminars will offer a dedicated agenda for pet food professionals, covering the latest trends and research in pet food formulation, processing, and production.
“The partnership with Petfood Forum supports our goal of connecting professionals, companies, and experts with emerging trends and industry demands,” said Guilherme Martinez, director of pet events at NürnbergMesse Brasil. “We want to create more visibility and opportunities for the sector.”
Brazil’s pet food industry saw strong growth in 2024, generating BRL 75.4 billion — a 9.6% increase from the previous year, according to data from Abinpet, the Brazilian Association of the Pet Products Industry.
Petfood Forum’s arrival in Brazil is part of a larger effort by its parent companies, Petfood Industry and WATT Global Media, to expand their global reach. The group is also launching a Portuguese-language news portal and a weekly newsletter focused on pet food innovations, market trends, packaging, and consumer behavior.
“For years, we’ve supported Brazil with content in English. Now, we’re speaking the same language as the world’s third-largest pet market,” said Steve Akins, executive vice president and publisher of global petfood and events at WATT Global Media.
The collaboration with NürnbergMesse Brasil builds on an existing partnership. Since 2022, Petfood Forum Europe has taken place at Interzoo — the world’s largest pet industry trade fair, also organized by NürnbergMesse.
With the inclusion of Petfood Forum Brasil, PET South America 2025 promises to be a key platform for learning, networking, and advancing the pet food industry in Latin America.
