Montreal, QC – Two malnourished kitten brothers were rescued from a parking lot in Mont-Laurier after police officers spotted them wandering alone, with no mother in sight. The pair, now named Osslet and Arbok, were taken in by Chatons Orphelins Montreal, where they are recovering and thriving in foster care.
A Desperate Start
When SQ Mont-Laurier officers found the kittens, they were severely underweight and weak. “They were just skin and bones, underdeveloped for their age—likely because they’d been without their mother for so long,” the rescue organization shared.
A volunteer transported the brothers to the shelter, where they received urgent care. Osslet, the smaller of the two with a dark muzzle, weighed only 325 grams, while Arbok was slightly heavier at 540 grams.
A New Lease on Life
The kittens were so hungry that they plunged their paws into their food as they ate. Within just 24 hours of rescue, they had already gained strength and weight.
“The two brothers are true fighters,” the rescue said. “As soon as they arrived, they sought human contact, almost as if searching for their mom. They cuddled up and found warmth and comfort with their foster family.”
Inseparable Bond
Now full of energy, the curious duo explores every corner of their foster home together, never straying far from each other.
“They rely on each other emotionally,” their caregivers noted. “They’re drawn to anything that moves—feathers and springs are their absolute favorites.”
Osslet is the bold adventurer of the pair, while Arbok is more affectionate, often seeking cuddles. But their personalities complement each other perfectly.
A Bright Future Ahead
The brothers spend their days playing, napping, and snuggling with their foster family and other cats in the home.
“They follow each other everywhere, racing around like tiny whirlwinds,” the rescue shared. “Endearing and playful, they can turn any place into a playground.”
At night, they curl up together on their human’s chest or around their neck, purring themselves to sleep.
Thanks to the efforts of the police officers and Chatons Orphelins Montreal, Osslet and Arbok will never face hunger or loneliness again. They now enjoy a life filled with toys, feline companionship, and endless love.
