Patricia Strange first ventured into animal care in 1985, opening a pet shop at Accrington Market. Just two years later, in 1987, she and her husband Michael founded Langholme Cattery in Hapton. What began as a passion for cats soon grew into a thriving business, where Patricia’s love for felines shaped the care of thousands of cats over nearly four decades.
Her son, Ryan, grew up at the cattery, learning the ins and outs of the business from a young age. After school, Ryan expanded the business with a website and social media presence, which helped it reach new heights.
Ryan later met Emily, who shared a deep love for animals from her own family’s background in competitive horses and pet care. In 2020, despite the challenges of the pandemic, Ryan and Emily took a bold step by purchasing Clearview Cattery. Determined to carry on Patricia’s legacy, they transformed the business with a new vision, creating a luxury brand named P.S. I Love Cats, incorporating Patricia’s initials.
In December 2022, Emily’s mother, Nadine, also realized her lifelong dream of opening Stableview Cattery in Charnock Richard. The state-of-the-art facility quickly earned a prestigious five-star license, reflecting its high standards of feline care.
The families’ dedication to cat care culminated in their 2023 marriage, which further strengthened their commitment to providing the best for their feline guests. Together, they have built a multi-generational family business that continues to expand its reputation for excellence.
Ryan says, “We’re here to offer the highest levels of care, and our goal is to leave our mark in the feline world, one paw at a time.”
The family remains committed to supporting local cat rescue charities, emphasizing their ongoing efforts to improve the lives of cats in need.
Their latest achievement is a newly built cattery at Clearview, designed with underfloor heating, spacious chalets, and private outdoor access for cats. The luxurious facility, set in a peaceful rural location, has already earned a five-star rating. This Valentine’s Weekend, they invite customers to visit the new space and meet the team behind their exceptional service.
