SYDNEY – Pepsi, a charismatic tuxedo cat rescued from a stray colony, quickly became the heart of Parkes Street Vet clinic with his affectionate personality and penchant for snuggles.
Discovered among feral cats, Pepsi stood out for his friendly demeanor and vocal nature, signaling he was never meant for life on the streets. Upon arrival at the clinic, staff were immediately smitten.
“He’s a legend who won the team’s hearts instantly,” said a Parkes Street Vet representative. Pepsi greeted employees daily with head bumps and cheerful meows, often “tippy-tapping” around for attention.
A Purr-fect Office Companion
The lovable feline embraced his role as the clinic’s unofficial supervisor—napping in sunbeams, “deleting emails” (by walking on keyboards), and sneaking treats during consultations. His antics included donning stethoscopes and offering “feline wisdom” to lighten the workday.
“He stations himself at the front desk like a security guard, always ready for pats,” the clinic shared. Pepsi’s easygoing nature extended to canine visitors, though his true passion was human companionship.
From Stray to Foster Star
Concerned about Pepsi’s dislike of solitude—and his Houdini-like escape attempts—staff sought a more secure environment. Kirstie, a receptionist and volunteer with local rescue group CatRescue901, arranged foster care.
The transition was seamless. Pepsi claimed his foster home’s bed instantly, greeting his new caregiver with duck-like meows and relentless purring. “He’s one of the friendliest cats we’ve had,” said CatRescue901.
Ready for Adoption
Now, the playful tuxedo cat—who adores interactive toys, exploration, and “biscuit-making” (kneading)—is searching for a permanent family. “He’ll make a wonderful companion,” the rescue added.
