IZMIR, Turkey — In a heartwarming display of trust, a stray cat recently led doctors at a Turkish hospital to her ailing kitten, seeking help for its eye infection.
Staff at the Izmir medical facility had been leaving food and water for the orange tabby, unaware she had recently given birth. Their routine took an unexpected turn this week when the mother cat entered the hospital carrying one of her kittens in her mouth, according to Gulf Today.
Determined, the feline marched inside, depositing the kitten near staff. Nurses examined the tiny patient and discovered an eye infection. Soon, the entire litter arrived, and hospital workers provided warmth and food while consulting a veterinarian. After administering eye drops, they celebrated as the kitten’s eyes opened shortly after treatment.
The cat family was later transferred to Uzundere for further care.
This isn’t the first time animals have sought aid at this hospital. Nearly a year ago, another stray cat brought her kittens to the same emergency room.
Trust between humans and stray animals often grows slowly, but this story highlights the profound bond that can form—especially when compassion meets need.
