A pregnant rescue cat has captured the hearts of social media users after a video showed her seemingly watching her own ultrasound at a veterinary clinic.
The viral clip, shared in early February by @ittybittykittycatrescue on TikTok, features the expectant cat named Eleven lying calmly on a vet’s table. As the ultrasound is performed, she turns her head to look at the screen—appearing to check on her kittens.
“The cutest ultrasound you’ll ever see!” reads the on-screen text. The video’s caption adds: “We rescued Eleven when she was VERY pregnant and she got her first ultrasound to make sure everyone was good and healthy.”
The video quickly gained attention online, reaching over 583,000 views and more than 50,000 likes. Many viewers were touched by the cat’s reaction. One commenter, Laura, wrote: “She’s so well behaved, I really think she knows what’s going on.” Another user, Thee Miss T, added: “Awh the way she looked at the screen as if to say, look at my babies.” Kamila Special K chimed in: “It’s cute how they’re so trusting—they know you’re helping.”
According to Lockwood Veterinary Group, cat pregnancies typically last about 65 days but can go up to 70 days. As long as the cat is eating, acting normally, and there are no signs of distress or discharge, the extended time is not a concern.
Signs of feline pregnancy often appear around the fourth week. A pregnant cat will show a larger belly, more prominent nipples, and an increased appetite.
The U.K.-based charity Cats Protection recommends feeding a pregnant cat high-quality food rich in nutrients to help her prepare for nursing. When labor approaches, the mother will need a warm, quiet, and comfortable place to give birth. A cardboard box with blankets in a low-light, secluded area can be ideal.
