A shelter cat in Indiana who had been returned twice has finally found her forever home—melting hearts both in person and online.
Allison, known as @bubblymoment on TikTok, told Newsweek her family was grieving the sudden loss of their previous cat when they decided to adopt again. The kitten they had hoped to bring home was no longer available. But a chance visit to a local shelter changed everything.
Allison’s daughter was scheduled to read to animals as part of a shelter program that helps build reading skills and comfort the animals. During that visit, they met a gray and white tabby named Ashley—now renamed Miss Honey.
“She instantly started rubbing up against us and cuddling with my daughter while she read,” Allison said. “I knew I had to call my husband. When I told him, he said, ‘We need to adopt her.’”
Though Miss Honey was still under evaluation and not yet listed for adoption, the family returned the next day. They learned she had already been returned from two different homes—once because she didn’t get along with another cat. The second reason was unknown.
Despite her rough start, Miss Honey quickly adjusted. A TikTok video showing her snuggling and purring beside Allison quickly went viral, earning 8.1 million views and 1.7 million likes.
“Regardless, we are very blessed to be her proud forever owners,” Allison said. “She is sweet like honey and helps mend the heartbreak from losing our other two cats. She fits right in with our kids and dogs.”
Though shy at first, Miss Honey began to thrive within days. “She’s such a cuddly cat. Every night she jumps in bed and snuggles with my husband and me, purring loudly,” Allison added.
TikTok users were captivated. One user commented, “She’s literally trilling, that’s the highest form of affection from a cat!”
For those unfamiliar, trilling is a soft vocalization—a mix between a purr and a meow—that cats use to express affection and happiness.
Now, Miss Honey is not only a cherished family member but also a viral sensation, proving that every pet deserves a second—or third—chance.
