David Loop, who foster kittens every year, shared his experiences, including the two abandoned kittens he recently cared for – Javie and Joaquin.
The first kitten, Javie, was discovered after its mother abandoned it. As a newborn, Javie needs to be breastfed every two hours and relies on artificial stimulation to use the toilet. David took care of him day and night and even took him to work.
Not long after, the mother cat appeared again, but left behind a second kitten, Joaquin. Although David was worried that Joaquin might carry diseases, he still decided to reunite the two kittens. Fortunately, Joaquin was healthy and the two kittens soon became close companions. Javie has a bold personality, while Joaquin is more introverted and likes to observe his elder brother’s actions.
David said that although it was hard to foster a kitten, it was extremely meaningful. These kittens have become friendly because of close contact with humans. However, he also cautioned that there are risks in taking care of orphaned kittens and one should be mentally prepared.
