COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER – A lonely kitten named Moose arrived at the county shelter without his mother or siblings, left to wait in a kennel for a second chance. But his fortunes changed when Sarah Kelly, founder of Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue, learned of his plight and sent volunteer Monica to bring him to safety—just before closing time.
“We picked him up at about 4:30 PM,” Monica told Love Meow. “He was a little timid but never afraid of being held.”
A Heartwarming Bond Forms
Monica prepared a quiet space for Moose to adjust, but the kitten had other plans. Moments after she stepped away, he trotted over and nuzzled into her foot, seeking affection. “I’d never had a kitten do that,” she said.
From the start, Moose was grateful for his rescue, following his foster mom like a shadow. After a bath—which he handled like a champ—his fluffy coat gleamed, and his playful personality began to shine.
Playful Energy and Purr-fect Manners
Within days, Moose transformed into a tiny whirlwind of energy. “He’s bursting with curiosity, turning everything into playtime,” Monica said. Yet despite his exuberance, he showed surprising restraint around Mozzie, the resident cat, respecting her space while quietly sharing window views.
His antics include pouncing on imaginary foes, chasing pom-pom “soccer balls,” and scaling furniture—though the feather wand was a hard pass. “He loves climbing chairs, cat trees, even a rolled-up rug,” Monica laughed.
A Bright Future Ahead
Now thriving in foster care, Moose has traded shelter loneliness for a life full of love and adventure. “His fluff, charm, and fun-loving personality—he’s the total package,” Sarah said.
As he waits for his forever home, one thing is clear: This kitten’s heart is as big as his playful spirit.
