Indianapolis, IN – What Rani (now Molly McBeans) lacked in size, she made up for in fearless spirit. Rescued earlier this year by the Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO), the palm-sized kitten arrived needing round-the-clock bottle-feeding—but her will to thrive was undeniable.
From Fragile to Fierce
Despite her petite frame, Rani’s energy and fluff grew exponentially under the care of her foster volunteer, Lori White. “She’s 95% floof and more interested in exploring than cuddling,” White joked. At just 22 ounces, the kitten insisted on keeping up with her foster siblings, even commandeering their food bowls.
Her antics didn’t stop there. Rani claimed a dog bowl as her throne, napping inside it despite its comical size mismatch. The bowl belonged to Ben, an 8-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog, who welcomed the tiny intruder with gentle curiosity. “She marched up to him like she owned the place,” White recalled.
A Match Made in Adoption Heaven
ARPO hoped to find Rani a home with a dog companion—and last week, the perfect fit arrived. Renamed Molly McBeans, she now reigns over her new family, including her canine best friend, Ludo.
“She claimed the house—and Ludo—within hours,” her adopter shared. The duo spends days playing and nights curled up together. “They’ve teamed up to scatter toys everywhere. She thinks everything of his is hers.”
From a fragile orphan to the queen of her domain, Molly’s story proves that even the smallest creatures can live with lion-sized confidence.
