When a friendly tuxedo cat named Pepsi was rescued from a stray colony, no one expected he’d soon become the heart of a veterinary clinic—offering purrs, cuddles, and even a little “help” around the office.
Pepsi, a striking black-and-white cat, was brought to Parkes Street Vet after rescuers determined he was too affectionate for life on the streets. Staff quickly fell for his gentle kneading, rumbling purrs, and habit of greeting everyone with head bumps and chirpy meows.
“This cat is a legend and rapidly won the hearts of the team,” the clinic shared.
The Purr-fect Office Assistant
Pepsi took his new role seriously—stationing himself at the front desk, sneaking into consultations for treats, and offering lap-warming services during breaks. His love for attention and food made him an easygoing companion, even around the clinic’s canine visitors.
“He can be found deleting emails, napping in sunbeams, or insisting on face rubs,” staff joked. “Pepsi, the security guard, is always watching.”
A New Chapter in Foster Care
Despite thriving at the clinic, Pepsi’s clingy nature—coupled with a talent for escaping—prompted staff to consider a home environment. Kirstie, a receptionist and volunteer with CatRescue901, arranged foster care for the lovable tuxedo.
He adjusted immediately, claiming his foster mom’s bed and greeting her with duck-like meows and relentless purrs. “He’s one of the friendliest cats we’ve had,” rescuers noted.
Now, Pepsi spends his days playing with toys, exploring, and showering his foster family with “biscuit-making” kneads. “He’s in love with his foster mama and is his usual affectionate, purry self,” they added.
Ready for a Forever Home
After his stint as a vet office mascot and street cat, Pepsi is now seeking a permanent family to spoil him. “He’ll make a wonderful companion,” rescuers said—proving that even the roughest starts can lead to the happiest endings.
