New York, NY — Move over, human dads—this French Bulldog is stealing the spotlight as the ultimate foster father. Nono, a devoted canine with a heart for tiny felines, has spent years helping raise orphaned kittens, preparing them for their forever homes.
His owner, Megan Noes, Kitten Nursery Manager at the ASPCA’s New York City facility, brought Nono into her fostering mission in 2017. Since then, the affectionate Frenchie has helped nurture 17 kittens, including his current litter of four: Frankie, Ilana, Imogen, and Isabel.
A Canine Surrogate Dad
Nono’s duties include cuddling, grooming, and socializing the kittens—key tasks that help them adapt to different environments, animals, and people. This early exposure increases their chances of adoption, a critical need during peak feline breeding season when shelters overflow with vulnerable kittens, many too young to survive without specialized care.
