The heartwarming story of the cross-species friends, Missy the bulldog and Pumpkin the cat, has gone viral on the Internet. They were once stray animals, but they met by accident and became inseparable companions.
At first, when Pumpkin saw Missy and her owner taking a walk on the street, she followed them voluntarily and joined them, thus forming a friendship. Although the owner did not deliberately introduce them, the two animals quickly got close and even shared food – the pumpkin would push cat food down from the counter to Missy, and Missy would wait patiently. They also like to take naps together. The pumpkin even combs Missy’s fur, showing deep friendship.
The owner revealed that Missy and Pumpkin might have understood each other because of their similar experiences of wandering. Missy was once captured by a city trap. Her owner adopted her out of concern for the situation of bulldogs in the shelter. Eight months later, the pumpkin appeared and integrated into the family. The owner exclaimed that their trust and mutual assistance were touching and also taught him unconditional love and resilience from the animals.
