A mischievous orange cat named Augustas found himself in a sticky—or rather, mashed—situation after somehow getting stuck inside a potato masher. His owner captured the bizarre aftermath in a now-viral TikTok video that has amassed over 56.6 million views.
The clip shows Augustas wriggling with the utensil clamped around his midsection like an awkward metal belt. Despite his predicament, the determined feline rolls, jumps, and twists in an effort to break free—all while his exasperated owner scolds him for climbing on the kitchen counters.
“Augustas, calm down! Mommy’s got you,” she says in the video.
How Did It Happen?
The footage doesn’t reveal exactly how Augustas managed to wedge himself into the masher, but given cats’ notorious ability to squeeze into tight spaces, it’s possible he was exploring the countertop and got tangled while investigating the utensil.
