A little girl’s wish to have 15 cats almost came true when a stray cat brought her four kittens to the family’s yard. The heartwarming moment was captured on video by the girl’s mother and quickly went viral online.
The TikTok video, shared Sunday by user @alexandra.lexy, shows the toddler and her mom watching a tabby cat and her playful kittens just outside their bedroom window.
“POV: the cat distribution system finds you right outside your bedroom window,” the video’s caption reads.
The mother tells her daughter, “We already have three cats,” to which the girl replies, “Yeah, but I really want 15!” An update in the caption explains there are actually four kittens now. The family plans to call local animal services after Memorial Day to help trap the cats safely, saying they can’t keep all four but might adopt one or two.
Experts note there are two types of homeless cats: strays, who are often friendly and live near people, and feral cats, who are usually scared of humans and not socialized. Feral cats should not be approached but rather reported to vets or animal organizations for help. Stray cats can be friendly but should be checked by a vet for microchips before being adopted, according to British charity Blue Cross.
The video has received over 103,000 views and nearly 27,000 likes on TikTok. Viewers shared their love for the playful kittens and related stories about rescuing strays.
One user wrote, “They are so cute running around playing while mama just sits there tired of their shenanigans.” Another said, “You have room for them all! We had 12 strays by the time I moved out at 19.”
