New York, NY—A once-fearful tabby cat, who spent months fleeing aggressive strays on the streets, has transformed into a confident, affectionate companion after being rescued and placed in a loving foster home.
A Rough Start
Found malnourished and bullied by other cats, the young tabby—now named Majin—struggled to survive outdoors. “He was starving and unable to defend himself,” said Kate, a volunteer with PuppyKittyNYCity, who took him in. Initially wary, Majin slowly realized he was safe and began to let his guard down.
Blossoming in Foster Care
Once settled indoors, Majin’s true personality emerged. No longer fighting for survival, he became a cuddly, playful companion—often leaping onto his foster mom’s lap for affection.
“He devoured his food at first, still used to scavenging,” Kate noted. Though he’s since adjusted to regular meals, he does best with smaller, frequent portions to ease his lingering food insecurity.
The Perfect Lap Cat
Majin has become a devoted snuggle bug, seeking out his humans for chin scratches and belly rubs. “He’ll gently place a paw on you, like he’s offering comfort,” Kate shared. Intelligent and curious, he’s learned tricks like “sit” and “high-five” and enjoys puzzle toys and climbing his cat tree.
While he hasn’t bonded with the resident cat, Majin thrives as the center of attention, happily following his foster family around and even “holding hands” to stay connected.
Ready for a Forever Home
Now around two years old, Majin has left his street-life struggles behind. “He has no interest in going outside—he’s perfectly content being spoiled indoors,” Kate said. With his glossy coat and playful spirit, he’s ready to find a permanent home where he can continue his journey as a beloved companion.
Thanks to the efforts of PuppyKittyNYCity, Majin’s future looks brighter than ever—filled with warmth, safety, and endless love.
