Olivia adopted an 8-week-old kitten named Felix. As a cat owner for the first time, she quickly developed a deep bond with this caring little fellow. Felix is not only lively in personality, but also takes the initiative to comfort Olivia when she is in low spirits. He has even developed a lovely habit of “accompanying her to the toilet”. However, when Felix was two years old, a lump on his leg was diagnosed as a rare liposarcoma, and Olivia faced a difficult choice: chemotherapy or amputation.
At first, Olivia chose chemotherapy to preserve Felix’s leg, but all attempts failed. At the critical moment when the cancer might spread, she finally decided to have her limb amputated. After the successful operation, Felix not only got rid of cancer but also maintained his former vitality and happiness. Nowadays, he still jumps and plays, and is even excited about Christmas presents, proving that a three-legged life has no impact on his sense of happiness at all.
Olivia, through her own experience, called on other pet owners: If amputation is the only option to save a life, there is no need to hesitate too much. “Felix loves life and this decision has enabled him to have a fulfilling life,” she confessed. Although the process was torturous, seeing my beloved cat healthy and worry-free, all the efforts were worthwhile.
Nowadays, Felix’s story has become an inspiring case. Olivia shared her daily life on social media, showcasing the tenacious vitality of the amputated cat. At the same time, it also reminded people that the adaptability of pets far exceeds imagination, and the quality of life is far more important than the number of limbs.
