Livvy, a spirited calico, and Huxley, a determined tabby, arrived at their foster home alongside their littermates, seeking a brighter future. Born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition affecting balance and coordination, the pair faced early challenges—but their resilience quickly shone through.
Under the care of Kris Kaiser, a foster caregiver specializing in “wobbly cats,” the kittens thrived. Despite their small size, Livvy and Huxley displayed an unyielding will to live, devouring meals and steadily gaining strength. “They’re typical playful kittens—they just move differently,” Kaiser told Love Meow.
Defying Limits
CH causes frequent falls, but the siblings never let it slow them down. With tailored care—including easy-access litter boxes, carpeted floors, and ramps—they learned to navigate their world. Kaiser notes that many CH kittens improve over time as they build muscle and adapt.
The duo’s bond deepened after their littermates were adopted. Now inseparable, they chase toys, cuddle relentlessly, and even “make biscuits” (Huxley’s signature air-kneading). “They don’t know they’re different,” Kaiser said.
A Hopeful Future
Their playful antics and affectionate nature mask their condition. Livvy, the bold explorer, and Huxley, the cuddly daredevil, balance each other perfectly. “Exercise strengthens them,” Kaiser explained. “They’re brave, social, and ready for a forever home.”
For Kaiser, the pair’s journey is a testament to perseverance: “Whoever adopts them will have a lifetime of love.”
