A woman caring for a stray cat was surprised when the feline showed up with five tiny kittens in tow.
TikTok user @lady.yappington shared the heartwarming moment in a video that has gained over 270,000 views and nearly 42,000 likes.
“I’ve been feeding a stray cat for the past few months,” she said. “She got pregnant, had her babies, and today she finally brought them to me—look at them all.”
The video shows the mother cat, named Toady, with her five adorable kittens. Viewers quickly fell in love with the little family and encouraged the woman to care for them.
“Are you kidding me? Look at these little cutie patooties,” she said in the clip. “You’re such a good mama, Toady. Thank you for trusting me with your babies.”
Since then, Toady and her kittens have been sheltered in the woman’s garage. The kittens were taken to the vet for deworming and appear healthy. Some viewers noticed Toady’s swollen belly and wondered if she might be pregnant again. Fortunately, she has a spay appointment scheduled to prevent further litters.
Among the kittens, three are boys and two are girls. The whole family seems to be thriving under their new caretaker’s watchful eye.
Cats Protection UK advises that if you find a stray cat with kittens, it is best to watch from a distance first. The mother cat may be caring well for her young. If the kittens look healthy and safe, intervention is often unnecessary. However, if the kittens appear sick or in danger, contacting a local animal welfare group is recommended.
Before stepping in, Cats Protection suggests trying to find out if the cat is truly stray or simply an outdoor pet. One way is to put a paper collar on the cat asking the owner to get in touch. If no response comes and the cat seems homeless, veterinary care and finding a new home may be needed.
The video’s comment section was full of praise for both the woman and Toady. One user wrote, “She’s rewarding you with the babies.” Another said, “To have a cat trust you enough to bring her kittens to you is the biggest compliment ever.”
