During two road trips in Serbia, a couple unexpectedly adopted a stray dog and a cat, which not only resolved their differences in pet preferences but also initiated their journey to rescue more animals.
On their first trip, they met the stray dog Nala. At that time, Nala rushed to the car and was in poor health. The couple originally intended to take care of her temporarily, but the veterinarian suggested releasing her back onto the street. They finally decided to adopt Nala, although traveling with a dog was full of challenges.
During their second trip, when they stopped to rest due to Nala’s motion sickness, they found the cat Simba hiding under the car. The wife insisted on adopting Simba, while the husband initially just compromised. However, Simba gradually won his heart and now he calls it “my cat”. Simba loves traveling and even obediently follows her father, even without a leash.
The couple later placed nine cats in foster care and adopted another black cat named Luci. The husband changed from a “non-cat person” to a cat lover, while the wife enjoys the time of taking Nala and Simba for walks.
The story of this family proves that love and compromise can bring unexpected happiness and even change people’s views on life.
