Florida, A tiny gray kitten mysteriously appeared in a couple’s yard and immediately decided they were his family—climbing onto their shoulders and into their hearts in an instant.
Roman and Janna Clavelli had never owned a cat before, but fate had other plans. While Roman was doing yard work, a stray kitten emerged from nowhere, brushing against his legs before scaling his shoulder and refusing to leave.
“We don’t know where he came from—no missing posters, no neighbors claiming him. It’s like the ‘cat distribution system’ dropped him from the sky,” Janna told Love Meow.
Instant Bond
The kitten, now named Elvis, was fearless and affectionate from the start. Roman, holding the tiny feline, turned to his wife and declared, “I think we have a cat now.”
The couple rushed to buy supplies, seeking advice from TikTok’s cat-loving community as first-time owners. “It felt like bringing a newborn home—equal parts love and panic,” Janna admitted.
A Shoulder Cat is Born
Elvis quickly settled in, claiming the couple’s shoulders as his favorite perch. He purred against Roman’s cheek, as if to say, You’re mine now. “We spent the whole day laughing, asking, ‘Is this real?’” Janna recalled.
With guidance from online forums, they bathed Elvis, combed out fleas, and watched him blossom into a playful, confident kitten. He shadowed them around the house, “supervised” dishwashing from Janna’s shoulder, and pounced on toys with panther-like energy.
Healing Purrs
For Janna, Elvis became an unexpected emotional anchor. “I’d been struggling with anxiety, but since he arrived, it’s faded. I didn’t know I needed him until he came,” she said.
The kitten also bonded with the couple’s baby daughter, trailing her as she crawled and curling up beside her. “He’s family now,” Janna said. “I wasn’t a cat person before—but Elvis changed everything.”
