Guinness World Records announced Monday that Kevin, the newly crowned “World’s Tallest Living Dog,” has died following sudden health complications. The Great Dane, who measured 3 feet 2 inches from paws to withers (and nearly 7 feet on his hind legs), fell ill shortly after his record was confirmed and died during emergency surgery.
“We are deeply saddened by Kevin’s passing,” a Guinness spokesperson said. “His owner, Tracy Wolfe—manager of a local vet clinic—and her team did everything possible to save him. Our hearts go out to the Wolfe family during this devastating time.”
Kevin’s record-breaking stature—6 inches taller than the average Great Dane—made him a beloved figure overnight. “He adored the attention,” Wolfe said. “I’m so grateful he got to shine. It’s a shame giant breeds don’t live longer; every moment with them feels too short.”
Kevin’s legacy as a gentle giant lives on, leaving paw prints on the hearts of all who celebrated his brief but remarkable reign.
