NEW YORK — Talk show host Wendy Williams has expanded her family with two new furry additions. On Monday’s episode of The Wendy Williams Show, the 55-year-old revealed she adopted a pair of sister kittens—one gray and one black—from a local rescue.
“I love them so much,” Williams gushed. “They came to the house, we immediately bonded. They’re wonderful. I feel like I have such a full life with them. They love each other and don’t much bother me!”
The newly independent TV personality, who recently finalized her divorce from longtime husband and manager Kevin Hunter, gave the cats fitting names. The gray kitten was dubbed “My Way”—a nod to her fresh start. “As in, my life, my way now,” Williams explained. The black kitten, meanwhile, earned the name “Chit Chat”, a playful reference to her broadcasting career.
“Chit Chat, the black one, is quite shady,” Williams joked. “She’s like, ‘Stop being so friendly, we’re new here, we don’t know her.’ And then My Way is like, ‘No, we were found in the streets!’”
From the Streets to Stardom
The adoption was facilitated by Dr. Maureen Saunders of the Cat Care Clinic of the Nyacks in Nyack, New York. Speaking from the audience, Dr. Saunders shared that the kittens were born to a feral cat before being rescued, spayed, and fully vaccinated.
Williams first expressed interest in adopting sister cats during her show’s Season 11 premiere. A longtime viewer, Michelle, connected her with Dr. Saunders—and a photo of the kittens hugging sealed the deal.
“When I saw them hugging each other, I was like, ‘Done! I want both of them!’” Williams recalled.
New Pet Mom Life
Though new to cat ownership, Williams is taking it in stride—even handling the messier moments with humor. She revealed the kittens had an accident in a pair of her Manolo Blahnik heels.
“They took a massive runny dump in them and then had the nerve to hide!” she laughed. “They’re the 5-inch ones—I’ll never wear them again. But they’re just shoes! We cleaned them up, Lysol’d them, and watered them down. The leather dries nice.”
Despite the mishaps, Williams is smitten with her new companions. “They were really good,” she said of the kittens. “You did a wonderful job with the girls.”
