When Peach’s family adopted her as a kitten, they quickly discovered her bold, playful personality—classic for a fiery ginger cat. Now a year old, Peach is known for her energetic “zoomies,” loud demands for attention, and occasional tumbles from high places. But her quirkiest habit? An unusual love for bath time.
From Spectator to Sailor
At first, Peach simply enjoyed watching her mom, Holly Fairbrass, soak in the tub, perching on the edge with intense curiosity. Then, her family had an idea: What if Peach joined in?
“We decided to see if she’d get into a mixing bowl and float,” Fairbrass told The Dodo. “Once she felt the warmth, she loved it.”
Since that experiment, Peach has become a regular bath-time sailor, floating in improvised “boats” crafted from household items. Her parents have tested everything from mixing bowls wrapped in pool noodles to sink basins lined with inflatables.
A Fleet of Failures—and Favorites
Not every vessel works. “It’s harder than you think to find something that floats and fits a cat,” Fairbrass admitted. Peach has taken a few unexpected dips, but her persistence pays off. As she grows, her fleet has had to scale up—her current favorite is an oversized mixing bowl, replacing outgrown options.
For Peach, bath time is now an adventure. And for her creative family? Just another day life with a cat who’s clearly destined to sail.
