A kitten named Benny in the UK was once overlooked due to a congenital defect – it had only one eye, half a nose and a cleft lip, and was much smaller in size than its littering brother Teddy. The two tabby cat brothers were sent to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) by kind-hearted people. After a veterinary examination, Benny was found to be in good health despite his unusual appearance.
Fortunately, the story of Benny and Teddy was seen by the couple Sam Dye and Hannah Grimwood through Facebook. This couple has always favored cats with special needs. They have adopted three cats at home, including a blind cat named Tony. They decided to adopt both Benny and Teddy at the same time, believing that Benny could become a partner with Tony.
After integrating into its new home, Benny demonstrated astonishing vitality and became the liveliest of the five cats. Despite encountering occasional difficulties when jumping due to depth perception issues and snoring caused by blocked nostrils, it thrived under the care of its family. Now, Benny and Teddy, who are 7 months old, are inseparable. They share a bed with other cat siblings and form a warm big family.
Benny’s story proves that disabled animals are equally worthy of love. Similar cases include the blind kitten Quincy and Toto who received eyelid transplants. Both of them led happy lives after receiving care.
