A couple in the Bronx, New York, found an abandoned elderly orange cat on the steps of their apartment and named it Otto. At that time, Otto was weak and had disheveled hair, but he had a friendly personality. His adoptive parents shaved off the hair that hindered his movement for him and took him to the hospital. The examination found that he only needed to treat two kinds of infections.
After receiving injections and having microchips implanted, Otto gradually recovered his health, gained weight and regrew his hair. During the recovery process, Otto became obsessed with the catnip banana toy and often dozed off while holding it, as if it were “the first toy in a cat’s life”. He also smoothly integrated into the family and got along harmoniously with the two native cats.
Nowadays, Otto has become the “King of Sofas”, with an increasingly intimate personality, often snuggling up to his owner. His story, after being shared on Instagram, touched many netizens, proving that no matter how old one is, they can find their own home.
