When four kittens needed a foster home, Lori White, a volunteer with The Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership (ARPO), stepped in without hesitation. Among them was Anna, a tiny tabby who weighed just 14 ounces—but her small stature belied an unstoppable spirit.
A Cozy New Beginning
The kittens—three tabbies (Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff) and a black kitten named Arendelle—left the shelter behind for a warm, quiet foster home. While a snowstorm raged outside, they settled into their new routine.
Anna quickly found her favorite spot: tucked snugly into her foster dad’s hood. “My husband called me in because he couldn’t get up—Anna had claimed his hood as her throne,” Lori laughed.
The Littlest Fighter
Though the smallest, Anna held her own during playtime, fearlessly wrestling with her siblings. But her journey wasn’t without challenges. A vet visit revealed she might have a congenital condition, and despite a healthy appetite, she struggled with digestive issues.
To give her specialized care, Anna went to live temporarily with an ARPO veterinary nurse. There, she received round-the-clock attention—and thrived. “She took every treatment in stride,” Lori said. “Her determination was incredible.”
A Triumphant Return
After two weeks, Anna returned to her siblings—healthier, stronger, and full of energy. Kristoff, the most mischievous of the bunch, immediately claimed her carrier as his new fort, but Anna didn’t miss a beat. She dove back into playtime, chasing toys and cuddling with her siblings as if she’d never left.
By the next week, she hit a milestone: 1.6 pounds, eating well and using the litter box independently. Her progress delighted her foster family.
A Bright Future Ahead
Now, Anna spends her days ruling the roost, even welcoming a new foster sibling into her circle. At night, she curls up with her furry family, purring contentedly in Lori’s lap.
For this tiny warrior, love and resilience made all the difference—proving that even the smallest among us can have the biggest hearts.
