A disturbing incident captured on Ring video has sent shockwaves through a neighborhood in Owings Mills, Maryland, leaving residents outraged over an act of apparent animal cruelty targeting a beloved family pet.
Meet Greyson, a one-year-old cat cherished by his family for his playful demeanor and affectionate nature. However, on the morning of May 22, Greyson fell victim to a shocking act of violence that left him severely injured and in need of urgent medical attention.
Linda, whose daughter is the owner of Greyson, recounted the harrowing ordeal. “I heard someone outside crying and I came outside and my daughter was balled up,” she said. “I put my arms around her real tight and her kitten was just sitting there with blood oozing out of its eyes, it couldn’t move, and it was just sitting there helpless.”
Ring video footage captured by a vigilant neighbor revealed the disturbing sequence of events. According to Linda, the video showed an individual from a neighboring house walking down to their property and deliberately hurling rocks under their car where Greyson was hiding.
“He came outside, he watched his wife back out of the driveway and then the video shows him like he’s walking back to his door and then at 6:31, it shows him walking down to the dead end where we are positioning himself on our vehicle and hurling stones so loud you can hear all the popping noise,” Linda recounted.
The relentless assault continued, with Greyson trapped under the vehicle as the assailant continued to throw stones, seemingly waiting for the cat to emerge.
Following the incident, Greyson was rushed to the Veterinary Emergency Group Hospital in Pikesville, where he underwent extensive treatment for his injuries. Linda described Greyson’s injuries, including a broken jaw, fractured eye sockets, and pierced tongue, necessitating the use of a feeding tube and pain medication.
Despite attempts to seek answers from the individual’s residence captured in the video, they remained unresponsive. Baltimore County Police are currently investigating the incident, responding to the animal cruelty call and continuing their inquiries.
As Greyson’s medical expenses mount, with costs exceeding $2,000 and the necessity of jaw surgery estimated at up to $10,000, Linda and her family are left grappling with the senseless act of violence against their beloved pet.
“We’ve never spoken to these neighbors and are unsure of why this happened,” Linda lamented, highlighting the need for justice and accountability in the face of such cruelty.
