A gray tabby kitten’s desperate cries led to a heartwarming rescue after she was discovered hiding in a pile of logs in a local alley. For four days, the stray kitten remained wedged between the wood, too scared to emerge—until compassionate volunteers stepped in to change her fate.
A Community Effort
The kitten was first noticed by a concerned resident who heard her cries and began leaving food nearby, hoping to lure her out. When the kitten’s mother failed to return, the finder reached out for help through a neighborhood Facebook group.
Haley and Sarah, volunteers from Thrifted Kittens Animal Rescue, quickly responded. “They moved the logs and safely retrieved her,” the rescue organization told Love Meow. “She was terrified, but we knew she’d never be cold or hungry again.”
From Fear to Trust
Once in her rescuers’ arms, the kitten—later named Friday—immediately relaxed. Nestled under a jacket for warmth, she melted into their touch, her anxious cries replaced by quiet purrs.
Fostered in a safe home, Friday blossomed. She reveled in round-the-clock meals, playful wrestling matches with toys, and the comfort of feline and human companions. Her once-scrawny frame filled out, her coat grew glossy, and her playful personality emerged.
A Happy Ending
Friday’s curiosity and affectionate nature charmed her foster family. She became particularly fascinated by a ticking clock and invented her own “tetherball” game by the cat post.
It wasn’t long before a forever family fell in love with her. Now, the once-frightened stray sleeps soundly in her new home, her days of hiding long behind her.
“Her rescuers may never know how she ended up alone,” the rescue shared, “but today, she’s exactly where she belongs.”
