A mother of three recently spotted something unusual while driving that she still finds hard to explain. Luckily, she recorded the moment and shared it on TikTok, where it quickly went viral and made millions of users laugh.
The video, posted under the username @cynkaygarza, shows two cats standing close together on the sidewalk. Their lips seem to move as if they are having a secret conversation. Both cats stay still with their heads near each other, appearing to “chat.”
The TikTok caption reads, “How do I explain to my therapist I was driving and thought I saw two cats having a conversation… Only to stop and catch them talking.” Another caption asks, “I wonder what they were talking about.”
While cats don’t usually meow at each other except when communicating with kittens, they often use body language or other sounds to communicate. Cats meow mostly to get human attention.
Brightcare Veterinary Group explains that cats know meowing catches our attention even when we are distracted. So, when cats meow at people, they usually want something.
Adult cats can meow at each other in certain situations, like during mating season. According to the Central Orange County Emergency Animal Hospital, female cats may meow when in heat to attract males, who may respond with meows of their own.
Cats may also give short meows when meeting unfamiliar cats. This helps set boundaries or send cautious greetings.
The video quickly gained popularity on social media, earning more than 18.1 million views and 3.5 million likes.
One user joked, “They were CATching up.” Another said, “Thank god you recorded. I would NEVER have believed you.” A third user added, “Oh they beefing. That’s no conversation, hun.”
Another commenter humorously suggested, “Girl just show your therapist this because without video I don’t think you were going to get released after your session.”
