The RSPCA Manchester and Salford branch will host a free cat health clinic on Saturday, June 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walkden Shopping Centre.
The event is part of the RSPCA’s annual One Fun Day, held in celebration of the charity’s Founders Weekend, which honors the organization’s founding in 1824.
At the clinic, pet owners can bring their cats for a free health check. The assessments will take place in a quiet, secure area of the shopping center to reduce stress for the animals. Six health advisors will be available, and no appointments are needed.
Staff from the RSPCA will also be present to answer questions about cat care and wellbeing.
In addition, a limited number of £75 cat neutering vouchers will be offered to eligible attendees. To receive a voucher, owners must bring their cat in a suitable carrier and show proof of ID and low income.
The Manchester and Salford event is one of more than 60 One Fun Day celebrations happening at RSPCA branches nationwide. The charity says the annual event helps communities come together to support local centers and improve animal welfare.
“The One Fun Day event gives people and communities the chance to come together and celebrate this milestone, as well as support their local RSPCA branches and help improve the lives of every animal as part of a million-strong movement,” the RSPCA said in a statement.
Volunteers and supporters are working hard to make the Salford event a success. For more updates, the RSPCA encourages the public to visit their official Facebook page.
