Montreal, QC — A tiny kitten with striking ear tufts has charmed her way into the hearts of both humans and feline friends after being rescued from the streets.
A Rescue Story
Genevieve, a compassionate animal rescuer, discovered a stray cat and her five kittens while aiding local strays. Among them was Riley, a fluffy black kitten whose long ear tufts made her stand out. Genevieve safely gathered the family and brought them indoors, where they began to thrive.
Once weaned, the mother cat was spayed and placed in a loving home, while four of the kittens were adopted in pairs—leaving Riley still searching for her forever family.
Healing and Hope
Genevieve reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a local rescue, for assistance. Riley needed medical care for a respiratory infection but bounced back quickly with treatment.
“She had a runny nose and sniffles, but after starting medication, she quickly recovered,” the rescue shared.
To ease her loneliness, rescuers gave her a plush toy, which she clung to like a security blanket.
A Social Butterfly
Once healthy, Riley wasted no time befriending other cats in her foster home. She immediately snuggled up to a senior resident cat, purring contentedly.
“She quickly showed her cuddly and mischievous side. She’s a sweetheart of a kitten,” the rescue said.
When she spotted other foster kittens, Riley eagerly joined their antics, following them everywhere. The group welcomed her, and soon, they were playing like lifelong friends.
A Purr-fect Personality
Riley is described as playful, affectionate, and endlessly curious.
“She loves being around other cats and humans. When cuddled, she turns into a purr machine,” her caregivers shared.
She enjoys sunbathing by the window with feline companions and chasing feather toys. At night, she curls up beside her foster family or fellow kittens.
Ready for a Forever Home
Now five months old, Riley continues to flourish in foster care, surrounded by love. Though she’s made many new friends, her beloved plush toy remains a constant comfort.
With her striking ear tufts and irresistible charm, this little “fluffy panther” is ready to find a permanent home where she can share her endless affection.
