LOS ANGELES — Actor John Travolta, 67, shared a heartwarming family moment on Saturday, announcing that his 10-year-old son, Ben, has a new feline companion. The Grease star posted a photo on social media capturing the trio—Travolta embracing Ben, who cradled their fluffy new cat named Crystal.
“Ben’s new cat Crystal,” Travolta captioned the smiling snapshot.
The addition to the family received instant approval from Travolta’s daughter, Ella, 20, who commented with three heart emojis.
A Year of Celebrity Pets and Family Moments
The Travolta family has been in the spotlight this year for both their pets and personal milestones. In March, Ella paid tribute to her father on his 67th birthday with a touching Instagram post.
“Happy Birthday to the most incredible man I have ever known,” wrote Ella, whose mother was the late actress Kelly Preston. “You are not only the best Dad ever, but you are also my best friend.”
She continued, “Thank you for raising us, helping us, and loving us—and for all the good you do every day. The world is so lucky to have you, and so are we. I love you, Daddy.”
A Nostalgic Super Bowl Moment
Earlier this year, Travolta and Ella teamed up for Scotts Miracle-Gro’s Super Bowl commercial, recreating his famous hand jive from Grease.
“It was fun dancing in the yard with @johntravolta,” Ella shared on Instagram alongside a clip of the ad, captioning it, “Let’s hear it for the dads who’ve still got it.”
