LOS ANGELES — Two tiny ginger tabbies, Cheeto and Frito, were just two weeks old when they arrived at Today Tomorrow Forever Animal Rescue, needing round-the-clock care. Now, weeks later, their boundless energy and affectionate antics have won over their foster family—including the resident dog.
From Fragile to Feisty
Rescue volunteer Asa took on the challenge of bottle-feeding the kittens, ensuring they grew into healthy, rambunctious little cats. After each meal, the pair would snuggle close, grooming each other’s faces—a sign of their tight bond.
By four weeks old, their curiosity outpaced their nest. They were moved to a foster home with more space, where they quickly claimed their new territory. “They’re affectionate and fearless,” Asa told Love Meow. “They sprint to greet me, leap into my lap, and purr nonstop.”
A Lap Is Their Favorite Workspace
The kittens soon became Asa’s “assistants,” perching on her shoulders or dozing in her lap during work hours. “My legs go numb daily because they refuse to leave,” she joked. Even asleep, their purrs rumble on.
But their real adventure began when they met Kona, the family’s dog—who acts more like a cat. Kona welcomed them with gentle licks, as if they were her own. The kittens adored their canine nanny, nuzzling into her warmth.
Nonstop Playtime
Now, the duo tears through the house like “tiny tornados,” pouncing on feet, wrestling stuffed toys, and chasing feather wands. Cheeto, the bolder of the two, has mastered dramatic flips—earning Kona’s canine approval.
Their antics even won over Mikan, the resident cat, who tolerates his ginger shadows. “They’re purr machines,” Asa said. “The only quiet moments are when they’re passed out mid-cuddle.”
A Bright Future Ahead
From fragile orphans to fearless playmates, Cheeto and Frito have flourished. Whether scaling shoulders, “helping” with work, or crashing in synchronized naps, their ginger charm is unstoppable.
And for their foster family? Life is never dull. “If I’m not in the room, all I hear is the pitter-patter of chaos,” Asa laughed.
