The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is calling for loving families to adopt 13 charming cats waiting for their forever homes at its South London shelter. From playful kittens to gentle senior felines, the group includes tabbies with striking stripes, snow-white longhairs, and tuxedo cats with purrfectly poised demeanors.
“These cats have overcome tough times and now deserve a lifetime of warmth and care,” said RSPCA spokesperson Emma Thompson. “Whether it’s Whiskers, a three-year-old Maine Coon mix who adores curling up on laps, or Mittens, a feisty eight-week-old kitten who loves chasing laser pointers, there’s a purr-fect match for every household.”
Housed at the RSPCA’s Croydon branch, each cat has undergone thorough health checks and behavior assessments. Seven-year-old senior cat Bella, a calm tortoiseshell, thrives in quiet homes, while siblings Luna and Simba—two energetic tabby kittens—are ideal for families with children. Adoption fees start at £120, covering vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying/neutering.
“Adopting a rescue cat not only changes their life but brings endless joy to yours,” Thompson added. “We’ve seen how quickly these cats bond with their new humans—just last month, adoptive parent Mark Johnson said his rescue cat Oliver ‘turned our house into a home.’”
Potential adopters can schedule visits via the RSPCA Croydon website or call 020 8688 3591. The shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with virtual meet-and-greets available for those unable to visit in person.
“Each of these furry friends has a unique story,” Thompson emphasized. “Help us write the next chapter—they’re counting on finding their forever humans!”
